What are LD InkPods?

LD InkPods are an ink cartridge line created by LD Products that includes a set of ink refill pods and a new reusable printhead shell that securely keeps your refill in place. When your ink is low, just insert a refill pod into the shell and install it into your printer! Right now we only offer LD InkPods for Canon printers that use Canon PG-245XL / 246XL ink cartridges. Additional InkPods for other popular Canon ink cartridge series are coming soon. LD InkPods make printing affordable and convenient, so you can print again and again without overspending.

Is my printer compatible with LD InkPods?

The LD InkPod PG-245XL 4-pack is compatible with the same printers that use Canon PG-245XL / CL-246XL ink cartridges, including the Canon PIXMA iP2820, MG2420, MG2522, MX490, MX492, TR4520, TS3120 and TS3122 and many more.

The LD InkPod CL-246XL 3-pack is compatible with the same printers that use Canon PG-245XL / CL-246XL ink cartridges, including the Canon PIXMA iP2820, MG2420, MG2522, MX490, MX492, TR4520, TS3120 and TS3122 and many more.

The LD InkPod PG-245XL / CL-246XL series are not interchangeable and should only be used with the compatible printers listed on the related product page. Installing an incompatible InkPod may cause damage to your printer.

How much ink is in an LD InkPod?

Each InkPod is filled to the same capacity as the high yield Canon ink cartridge that works in your printer.

If you own a printer that uses Canon PG-245XL and the CL-246XL color ink cartridges, the black ink refill pod includes enough ink to print up to 240 pages and the color ink refill pod includes enough ink to print up to 300 pages.

Will I be able to monitor my ink levels with an LD InkPod?

Yes, InkPods communicate with your printer to track real-time ink levels on your printer's display screen so you know when your ink is running low.

Can I buy single LD InkPod refill pod?

Right now we only offer LD InkPods in a 4-pack or 3-pack. Along with the refill pods, each pack includes a reusable shell that can be used a maximum of three times. If the shell is used more than that, your print quality will deteriorate.

How to install your first InkPod cartridge

The first ink pod cartridge comes fully assembled and can be immediately installed in your printer.

1. Remove the clear plastic clip that protects the cartridge. Hold the cartridge in one hand and pull up on the plastic tab with your other hand to separate the clip from the cartridge.
2. Remove protective yellow sealing tape that covers the printhead. We recommend doing this over a trash can as some ink might escape when removing the tape.
3. Install the cartridge into your printer and start printing!

For best results, we recommend replacing your InkPod when the “Support Code: 1688 The following ink has run out” message appears on your printer’s display. If you continue printing after that message, you may cause damage to the printhead.

How to replace a Refill Pod

Your InkPod cartridge pack includes two extra refill pods. When the first refill pod runs out of ink, follow the replacement instructions below to install a new refill pod.

1. Remove the empty InkPod cartridge from the printer.
2. Press the gray “push” tab to release the empty refill pod from the reusable shell.
3. Unwrap a new refill pod and remove the black cap on the bottom of the pod.
4. Insert the new refill pod into the reusable shell and press down to secure.
5. Install the InkPod cartridge into your printer and start printing!

The shell should only be used with the refill pods that are included in your pack. If the shell is overused, the print quality will deteriorate and may cause damage to your printer. After using your last refill pod, please recycle the entire InkPod cartridge pack (shell and refill pods)

If you purchased both a black and a color InkPod cartridge pack, please note that the black and color shells are not interchangeable. Mixing shells and refill pods may damage your printer.
